Funmi Adams-Lawal was born to Pastor & Pastor Mrs Adams over four decades ago. She is the 4th of 5 children and she loved broadcasting from childhood. She began mimicking news reading and public speaking in church and school activities at about age 11 and grew to love it even more.
She started her primary education at Christian Council Nursery & Primary School and proceeded to Festac Grammar School, (both in Festac town Lagos)where she acquired a WASSCE in 1999.
She then got admitted into the Lagos State University to obtain a diploma in Law degree after which she went ahead with a Barchelor of Arts degree in English Language from the same institution and graduated In 2018. Funmi started a family in 2006 and is blessed with two sons. For the love of broadcasting, she went further to obtain a certificate in Basic presentation and Intermediate Presentation in the years 2015 & 2018 respectively.
She had since been a freelance radio presenter with Metro FM where she co-anchored one of the station’s flagship program, ‘ I Beg Una’ with Comfort Agbai, and was opportune to be trained by her being one of the notable broadcasters in the Nigerian media space.
She also served briefly at Panache Online radio as a Team lead and radio presenter, working hand in hand with other professional giants like Joseph Onaolapo(Jay On Air) and Zika Praiz.
Funmi Adams-Lawal is popularly referred to as MC Sparkle as she not just anchors events but practices public speaking and is trained to compere Yoruba traditional weddings(Alaga Iduro/Ijoko).
She presently doubles as a radio presenter and general manager of Isokan 106.7 FM, the first radio station owned by a local government in Nigeria.
Funmi casts the English News in summary at noon on week days as well as she anchors programs like Political Desk on Mondays at 10:30-11:30 am and Sparkles Hub live every week day at 1-2pm.
She is grateful to the Mushin Local government under the leadership of Hon Emmanuel Olanrewaju Bamgboye who was chairman of the LGA from 2017-2025 for an opportunity to serve.
