Hon. Emmanuel Olanrewaju Bamigboye is a distinguished public servant, accomplished administrator, and grassroots political leader, widely respected for his unwavering commitment to community development and responsive governance. Born on May 25, 1963, he hails proudly from the Itire axis of Mushin in Lagos State, an environment that profoundly shaped his enduring passion for service and people-centered leadership.

His educational journey reflects discipline, resilience, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence. After completing his primary and secondary education outside Lagos State, he proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic, where he obtained both his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND). He further advanced his academic profile with a Master’s degree from Ambrose Alli University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Administration at Lagos State University, attesting to his commitment to intellectual growth and administrative proficiency.

Before his full immersion into public service, Hon. Bamigboye built a solid professional foundation in the private sector. He worked as an accountant with 3M Nigeria Limited (Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company) in Isolo, Lagos, where he rendered over two decades of meritorious service. This experience not only honed his financial acumen but also instilled in him a culture of discipline, accountability, and corporate excellence that would later define his public service career.

Hon. Bamigboye’s political trajectory is marked by consistency, loyalty, and progressive leadership. A firm believer in democratic participation, he contested for the Lagos State House of Assembly on three separate occasions, demonstrating resilience and an unwavering commitment to representation. He served as Senior Special Adviser on Commerce and Industry to the then Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where he contributed meaningfully to policy coordination and economic development initiatives.

He later served with distinction as Vice Chairman of Mushin Local Government from 2008 to 2014. During this period, he held critical supervisory roles serving as Supervisor for Education during his first tenure and Supervisor for Health in his second tenure where he implemented impactful policies that strengthened both sectors at the grassroots level.

In 2017, following a keenly contested primary election, he emerged as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a testament to the confidence reposed in his leadership, capacity, and longstanding dedication to party ideals. He was subsequently elected Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government and served two transformative terms in office. Notably, in the 2021 local government elections, he secured the highest number of votes among all 57 local government areas and local council development areas in Lagos State an emphatic endorsement of his performance and widespread acceptance among the people.

His administration was defined by strategic infrastructural renewal, educational advancement, and environmental sustainability. Under his leadership, Mushin witnessed extensive road construction and rehabilitation, the renovation and upgrading of public primary schools, and the revitalization of primary healthcare centres.

A landmark achievement of his tenure was the establishment of Isokan 106.7 FM, Nigeria’s first local government-owned radio station an innovative platform that significantly enhanced community engagement, public enlightenment, and grassroots communication. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the station, where he continues to promote civic participation, public discourse, and community-driven development.

Hon. Bamigboye’s outstanding performance in office earned him numerous accolades and recognitions at both state and national levels. In recognition of his exceptional contributions, he received several awards for good governance, environmental consciousness, and local government excellence. Significantly, each award was accompanied by the presentation of buses, reflecting both the prestige of the honours and the tangible appreciation of his impact.

Beyond the sphere of local governance, he has further strengthened his administrative and leadership capacity through active participation in high-level international seminars and executive programmes across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Dubai, and Ghana, among other jurisdictions. These global engagements have significantly broadened his outlook and deepened his commitment to aligning local governance practices with established international standards and best practices.

Professionally, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government Administration and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management, reflecting his dedication to institutional development, professional excellence, and ethical leadership.

In recognition of his extensive experience, proven capacity, and deep-rooted grassroots influence, he was duly appointed at the state level as one of the twenty Local Government Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinators in Lagos State, with responsibility for Mushin and Odi-Olowo. In this strategic role, he provides purposeful leadership in grassroots mobilization, policy advocacy, and public sensitization, while advancing the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda and fostering inclusive, people-centered national development.

Beyond politics and administration, Hon. Bamigboye is a deeply committed man of faith. He is a Special Apostle and Pastor in the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Ayo Ni O Surulere, Lagos, where he has been a devoted member for over five decades. His spiritual life continues to guide his principles of humility, service, and compassion.
